Book Review #4 To Kill a mocking bird

Title     : To kill a Mockingbird Author : Harper Lee Genre   : Humor Rating  : 4.5/5 To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel about growing up under extraordinary circumstances in the 1930s in the Southern United States. The story covers a span of three years, during which the main characters undergo significant changes. To Kill a Mockingbird is one of those books that almost everyone reads at some point in their lives. Each person has their own personal experience of reading this book.  This book beautifully describes the childhood of two kids and their suspicious approach to everything around them. During the span of three years, author clearly shows the changes happening in Scout's and Jem's life. It is not the story thread or the depth of incidents described in this story, but the way he tells the story made me a big fan of this book. Though this book mainly known for the life of Jem and Scout, the main theme of this book is courage, I would say. This no...

Since it's unfair to expose her name, you can call her as Anna. Ok. I know Anna very well. Or alt least I believe so. Whatever... I like to think that I know her very well. I know her for the past 6 years. From my college days. She was my classmate and she was one of my good friend too.  Back in college days, she used to talk a a lot, participate a lot, mingle a lot. If there was a program in the college, she would be there in the first row. she was like that. A talkative, friendly and trustworthy person, who always face you with a smile hid between her lips.A happy girl!!! But today, Anna is not happy as she was before. The hidden smile in her lips is far away from her. I was in touch with her through out these years and I could see her happiness is moving away from her when our friendship was 5 years old, which means one year before. She didn't tell me or she didn't show it out. But It was easy for any person to find the drastic change in her. So I asked her...

Book Review #3 Rage Of Angels

Title     : Rage of Angels Author : Sydney Sheldon Genre   : Thriller, Romance Rating  : 4.5/5 My favorite Sydney Sheldon book. You can even finish this thrilling multi threaded novel in one night. This story tells about the life  of an ambitious young girl(Jennifer parker) who became the busiest advocate in the city from scratch. This book goes through not only the successful professional career of Jennifer but also her failed love.  And then comes the villain( Michel Moratti) of the story. Believe me! this would be one among the very few novels where I really liked the Villain. While reading the chapters on moratti, We can fell his power as his character is exceptionally depicted in this book.  But, nothing is permanent, so wasn't Jennifer's successful career. The main thread of this book is Jennifer's career and the unexpected fall happened there. But the girl won't give up. She chose the negative way( Moratti) to recover  ...

Book   : Want to Play ? Author: P J Tracy Genre  : Thriller, Crime, psychic Thriller Rating : 4.5/5 Though the name of the book I got is ' Want to play?', My research led me to the fact that this book has another name published. Monkeewrench. This book is an absolute page turner and I can bet my life that you will not get bored once you started reading it. First few chapters were little slow, however that was needed to develop the plot, and describe the characters.  This story revolves around an officer investigating the series of murders happened in a city. Grace MacBride also a center character in this story as the murders are exact copies of those in the game she's designing. She was the primary suspect but who knows what happens. This is a must read for you if you like thrillers or psychological thrillers most. Author's character description and linking between characters are much appreciated. You could feel a completeness even in a small el...

The Eight Dust For the Night

Ibn battuta once said, "Travelling - it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a story teller". But, There always has a constraint in composing or telling all that you have encountered in a journey to a second person. Writers are sellers of their dreams. In any case, there is no such essayist who is sufficiently rich to plot precisely whatever he felt amid his trip. Feelings cannot be described in words. You should explore it, should experience and feel it. This is not a travelogue though. This is something happened unexpected to me in one of my journey.  Each journey has a story to tell. Story of sorrows, of distresses, battles, joy and freedom.   Winter of 2014.
