To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel about growing up under extraordinary circumstances in the 1930s in the Southern United States. The story covers a span of three years, during which the main characters undergo significant changes.
To Kill a Mockingbird is one of those books that almost everyone reads at some point in their lives. Each person has their own personal experience of reading this book. This book beautifully describes the childhood of two kids and their suspicious approach to everything around them. During the span of three years, author clearly shows the changes happening in Scout's and Jem's life. It is not the story thread or the depth of incidents described in this story, but the way he tells the story made me a big fan of this book.
Though this book mainly known for the life of Jem and Scout, the main theme of this book is courage, I would say. This novel tells the courage of a man called Atticus Finch(Father of Jem and Scout), who stood fearlessly for something which most people are reluctant to do. To be the advocate for a man who was charged for rape. Atticus believed in him and he stood courageously for what he believed. Atticus realized he had no chance because a jury would never favor a black man over a white regardless of the circumstances. But he never gave up,but fought for what he liked and believed.
This is a book which you can read when you need to find some happiness in your life. I was happy reading this and this is one of my favorite book
